Séadhan de Poire

Séadhan de Poire teaches Irish with two things in mind at once: giving students a genuine, working grasp of the language, and making sure they understand exactly how the marking scheme is applied in the State exams. He covers the course concisely, so that every student walks in with the tools to handle the questions most likely to appear.

Séadhan has worked with the State Examinations Commission both correcting written papers and as an Oral Examiner for the Leaving Certificate — and he is the author of two Junior Certificate Irish textbooks.

He has taught in the Gaeltacht at Coláiste Ciarán and Coláiste Ó Direáin, contributes to RTÉ, and reaches students well beyond the classroom as @sdpgaeilge. He has built a reputation as a teacher who gets students genuinely interested in Irish rather than simply resigned to it — which, in a subject so many students write off early, is most of the battle.
