DR. MICHAEL CASEY
Dr. Michael Casey has been an Irish teacher for 20 years and has been an Irish Examiner with the State Exams for 12 years. He obtained his PhD without any corrections from Ulster University where he focused on Literature, Folklore and Linguistics. He has also received a Fulbright scholarship where he taught Irish in Kansas, USA. Apart from teaching in various top schools in Ireland, he was also a University tutor of Irish in Germany. He has received many scholarships for his work and research in Irish including a VCRS scholarship, a Degenhardt scholarship, and a James M Flaherty research award to Memorial University Newfoundland, Canada.
Michael has contributed to discussions around Leaving Cert Irish on RTE Radio One also featured in the rte.ie/learn series of resources to support students in their preparations for Leaving Certificate exams.
